So-called “false positives” usually refer to breath samples that yield a positive BrAC reading when no alcoholic beverages have been consumed. This can happen due to other substances recently ingested and other environmental factors. Whenever a positive BrAC result is registered for a shared sample, Keepr will automatically prompt the user to retest up to 6 times, or until a BrAC reading of 0 is achieved. For detailed testing guidelines please see the Keepr User Guide.
Users are advised to wait 20 minutes after eating or drinking before testing for accurate results. Residue in the mouth immediately after eating or drinking can interfere with sample quality.
